Important Notes
You should Register as Soon as Possible due to following reasons:
Team building
A successful Gasherbrum II Expedition starts with strong team building. Carefully selected mountaineers are matched based on their experience, ensuring safety and mutual support during the climb. While our vet process isn’t overly strict, we prioritize creating a cohesive team for a safe journey to the summit.
Logistics
Organizing an expedition like this involves meticulous logistics. We arrange for high altitude porters, skilled guides, and essential equipment well in advance. Supplies like food and other necessities are transported to base camps months before the climb, especially during winter expeditions when harsh conditions make it difficult for porters to travel with heavy loads.
Permit
Obtaining a permit for climbing is crucial and must follow Pakistani government tourism laws. The process requires submitting all necessary documents like passport copies, photos, and CVs at least 70 days before your arrival in Pakistan. Without timely application, your spot on the expedition cannot be guaranteed.
Domestic Flights
Booking domestic flights to Skardu is another key step. Seats sell out quickly due to limited availability during the peak season, with only two flights operating daily. Late bookings could result in additional challenges, so timely payment of your deposit secures your flight.
Price Changes
Expedition costs can increase closer to the peak-season (May to September) due to rising charges by service providers like hotels. Early bookings not only ensure a lower price but also lock in the early bird discount rate. Once your deposit is paid, your cost remains fixed, shielding you from unexpected increases.
Pay Less Deposit
We offer a flexible deposit schedule to make payments easier. Pay just 35% 8 months before departure, 40% at 6 months, 50% at 5 months, and the full amount 4 months before departure. Early deposits allow us to handle logistics more efficiently and save you money.
Refund Policy
Once paid, your deposit becomes non-refundable as it goes toward logistics, equipment procurement, and hiring staff. The remaining balance must be cleared 120 days before arrival to avoid forfeiting your place. Note that refunds aren’t available even if weather, route conditions, or other factors prevent reaching the summit.
Currency
All payments for the expedition are handled in US Dollars (USD) to standardize transactions for our international climbers.
Other Notes
Before paying your deposit, complete the registration form and wait for approval from Baltoro Adventures. Due to high permit costs and strict policies, we cannot offer refunds if participants leave an active expedition. For added peace of mind, consider trip cancellation insurance to protect your investment.
