Gasherbrum I Expedition
Gasherbrum I expedition registration is now open for summer and winter. Gasherbrum I also known as Hidden Peak or K5 is the 11th highest peak on Earth. It is located on the border of China-Pakistan. Gasherbrum-I Expedition is part of the Gasherbrum massif located in the Karakorum region of the Himalaya.
Gasherbrum I expedition is often claimed to mean Shining Wall, presumably a reference to the highly visible face of the neighboring peak Gasherbrum IV, but in fact, it comes from “rgasha” (beautiful) + “brum” (mountain) in Balti, hence it actually means “beautiful mountain.”
Gasherbrum-I was first climbed on July 5, 1958, by Pete Schoening and Andy Kauffman of an eight-man American expedition led by Nicholas B. Clinch. Richard K. Irvin, Tom Nevison, Tom McCormack, Bob Swift, and Gil Roberts were also members of the team.

Important Notes
Why Register Now?
- Early Bird Discount: Take advantage of early bird pricing, as costs rise closer to the peak season. Service providers (hotels, airlines, etc.) generally increase prices as demand grows, so registering early secures a better rate.
- Limited Space in Peak Months: With a high influx of travellers during peak season, we maintain a group size limit of 12 participants per expedition for an exclusive and safe experience. Registrations operate on a “first-come, first-served” basis to guarantee availability.
- Limited Flight Seats: During peak season, flights to the Karakoram region fill up quickly due to limited daily flights. Early deposits are vital to steady home flight seats, ensuring you reach Skardu as scheduled.
- Pay Balance after Arrival in Pakistan: We understand concerns about price security. Therefore, the very last price is the simplest required upon your arrival in Pakistan.
- Minimum Deposit Requirement: Early bookings benefit from a minimum deposit policy, locking in the season’s discounts and avoiding price hikes for late payments. This rule applies to next season’s deposits as well.
Deposit (Advance) for Pakistani Nationals
Pakistani nationals are required to deposit PKR 100,000 or 30% of the total package price (whichever is higher). This deposit is non-refundable and secures your place on the expedition.
Refund Policy for All
Deposit: Once paid, the deposit is non-refundable as it covers pre-arranged in-country services. For Pakistani nationals, the deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances.
Balance: The remaining balance should be paid upon arrival in Pakistan on the first day. Detailed payment guidelines will be provided beforehand to ensure smooth processing.
Currency
All international travellers can make payments in US Dollars (USD), Euros (EUR), or British pounds sterling (GBP). Pakistani travellers are charged the equivalent of Pakistani Rupees (PKR).
Single Supplement
- Separate Hotel Rooms: A single supplement will require an additional USD 290, covering all hotel nights. This payment should be made along with the balance upon arrival.
- Separate Tents: For single tent accommodation, an additional USD 180 applies, covering the cost of extra porterage. This charge is payable along with the balance in Pakistan.
